Yury Gorodetski started his career at the age of 19 at the conservatoire of Minsk in Belarus under supervision of professor Viktor Skorobogatov.He is a soloist of the Belarus National Opera Theatre since 2006. His first opera performance was the part of Lensky (‘Eugene Onegin’, P. Tchaikovsky). Yury also performed the roles of Mozart (‘Mozart and Salieri’, N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Berendei (‘Snow maiden’, N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Tamino (‘Magic Flute’, W. A. Mozart), Alfredo (‘Traviata’, G. Verdi), God’s fool (‘Boris Godunov’, M. Musorgsky), Vladimir Igorevitch (‘Prince Igor’, A. Borodin). He performed as Conte Errico (‘La Vera Costanza’, J. Haydn) in Madrid, Spain and Treviso, Italy (conductor J. L. Cobos), Ly-Lam (‘L'inimico delle donne’, B.Galuppi) in Liège (conductor R. Alessandrini).
Additionally, his repertoire includes various romances by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Schuman, Schubert, Strauss etc. and the parts of Nemorino (‘Love potion’, G. Donizetti), tenor (‘Requiem’, W. A. Mozart), Don Ottavio (‘Don Giovanni’, W. A. Mozart). He has performed solo recitals in Minsk, Gomel, Brest, Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, etc. In December 2007 he took part in the staging of the opera La Traviata (as Alfredo) with conductor Marco Boemi in Kazan (Russia). Yury Haradzetski performed in duet with Maria Guleghina in Moscow in June 2007. He is a participant of the Chamber music festival “Three centuries of classical romance” in St. Petersburg.
During the 2011-12 season he will perform at the Opera de Liège as Don Basilio (Le Nozze di Figaro,W.A.Mozart), Der Steuermann (Der Fliegende Hollander, R.Wagner) & Conte Errico (La vera costanza, J. Haydn). He will participate in a few productions of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in the 2012-2013 season.
Since September 2009, Yuri is a student at the Opera Studio of the Queen Elisabeth College, where he works with José van Dam. Yuri is a winner of various Russian and Belarusian contests and was a finalist of the Francisco Vinas Competition in Barcelona (2007), where he was awarded a special prize by Dalton Baldwin (master-classes at International Academy Music in Nice).

Yury Gorodetski begon zijn carrière op zijn negentiende aan het Conservatorium van Minsk in Wit-Rusland, onder leiding van professor Viktor Skorobogatov. Hij zong al in enkele producties van de Nationale Opera van Minsk, zoals onder meer: Eugène Onegin, Die Zauberflöte, L'elisir d'Amore, La Traviata. Yury won verschillende wedstrijden in Rusland en in Wit-Rusland. In 2007 was hij finalist van de Concurso International de Canto Francisco Viñas in Barcelona, waar hij een speciale prijs kreeg van Dalton Baldwin. Hij volgde masterclasses aan de Internationale Muziekacademie van Nice. In mei 2008 werd Yury vijfde op de Internationale Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. Tijdens de zomer van 2008 volgde hij master classes bij Raina Kabaivanska en Peter Schreier. In 2008-2009 studeerde hij aan het Muziekinstituut van Modena (Italië), bij Raina Kabaivanska en in 2009-2010 aan de Opera Studio van de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth, onder leiding van José van Dam. In 2011-2012 zal hij verschillende rollen vertolken aan de Opera van Luik en in 2012-2013 staan er twee producties in het Russische Bolshoi theater op zijn programma.

Yury a gagné différents concours en Russie et en Biélorussie. Il est finaliste du Concours Francisco Viñas à Barcelone en 2007 où il reçoit un prix spécial de Dalton Baldwin. Il a suivi des master-classes à l'Académie Internationale de Musique de Nice. En mai 2008, Yury remporte le 5e prix du Concours Musical International Reine Elisabeth. Durant l'été 2008, il suit des master classes de Raina Kabaivanska et Peter Schreier. En 2008-2009, il étudie à l'Institut de Musique de Modène (Italie) dans la classe de Raina Kabaivanska. En septembre 2009, il a intégré la section Opéra Studio de la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth sous la direction de José van Dam. En 2011-2012 il chantera dans plusieurs productions à l'Opéra Royal de Wallonie et en 2012-2013 au Theatre Bolshoi en Russie.
